Diederik van Apple was born and raised in Leiden, the Netherlands, in 1985. In his childhood he always viewed the bigger picture. There was no boundary between fantasy and reality. He was addicted to Walt Disney books and legendary films like The Godfather, Scarface, Pulp Fiction and Boondock Saints. He loved to watch, read and enter fully into stories, as if he were himself part of the play.
In 2003 he started studying Law but after two years he discovered that he could not express his creativity in this study and decided to quit. In 2005 he started as an art representative in an art gallery in Amsterdam. In those years he traveled the world participating in exhibitions and art fairs for the Pinacoteca and found his passion for him.
With his experience, artistic intuition and passion for art he began to think about projects for works of art. Combining his fantasy with the artistic atmosphere in which he has lived in recent years. There was no boundary between work and leisure and he began to build unlimited ways of digital mix-media art. After his first launch in 2017 he made three series of limited editions that sold out in no time.
This was the beginning of Van Apple’s artwork and his career. He took his time for 6 months and came up with an amazing new set of artwork; Mr. Satoshi, Tweety Gold, loved by Daffy and Mickey Who. After his latest releases he decided to delve into the creative vibes and took only one flight to Ibiza. The most artistic island on earth has been a great success and new things often emerge. At the moment his works are very popular all over the world among art lovers and investors are intrigued by his style.
Van Apple’s art is a combination of digital techniques such as photography and famous features. The basis of the art is aluminum or gold foil, then add holograms, colors, glitter, diamonds and other handicrafts. All artworks are hand finished with several layers of epoxy. By adding these layers he is able to create innovative and unique mix-media art with a fantastic 3D effect. An exclusive creation a tribute to Superman (We All Need An Hero these days) from the series: Hero Turtles by artist Van Apple. Van Apple created the Hero Turtles in his own way. He gave the turtles a helmet instead of their shell, to show his love and respect for these protected species. Turtles are created in Red Chroom to express their worth and are given a colorful and contemporary helmet, each design makes a statement.
The Hero Turtle is signed and will arrive in an exclusive black ArtBox.
